Tending what it means

to be human

Gatherings, conversations, creative experiences, and resources for exploring death, grief, change, and what it means to move through this life together.

What is Tending & Co.?

There are experiences we aren't meant to rush through.

Our lives are shaped by beginnings and endings, grief and change, belonging and becoming. Yet we don't always have places to talk about these experiences—or even the language to name them.

Tending & Co. grew from a desire to make room for them.

Through gatherings, conversation, creative exploration, books and resources, we make space to approach death, grief, transition, and the experience of being human with greater curiosity, connection, and presence.

There is nothing here to fix. There is something here to tend.

How Tending & Co. Took Root.

Hi, I'm Mel.

For more than twenty years as a registered nurse, I have accompanied people through illness, caregiving, death, grief, and profound change.

Over time, that work left me curious about something larger than healthcare: how we navigate being human.

How do we live knowing our lives are finite? How do we make room for grief? How do we stay connected to ourselves and one another through change? And what might happen if we approached these experiences with curiosity rather than fear?

Those questions eventually became Tending & Co.—an evolving body of gatherings, creative experiences, resources, and community centered around the thresholds we encounter throughout our lives.

    Vigil & Respite Care

Limited, short-term respite and deathbed vigil for individuals and families approaching the end of life.

Come As You Are.
Curiosity Is Enough.

You don't need to be grieving, dying, caregiving, or going through a crisis to find something here. Tending & Co. is an invitation to explore the experiences that shape us—together.
